Ringwald Memorial Presby School Complex Holds Successful Student Election Today

Sampa, Bono Region – July 11, 2025 —
Ringwald Memorial Presby School Complex was filled with excitement and anticipation today as students exercised their right to vote in the annual Student Representative Council (SRC) elections. The event, which took place on campus under peaceful and orderly conditions, marked another milestone in the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership, civic responsibility, and democratic values among learners.

From the early hours of the morning, students gathered at the school grounds in a vibrant display of unity and enthusiasm. Campaign posters, slogans, and student manifestos had created a buzz throughout the week, and today was the day the votes would decide.

The positions contested included:

·       School Prefect (Boys & Girls)

·       Assistant Prefect

·       Class Captains

·       Library Prefect

·       Sports Prefect

·       Protocol & Sanitation Officers

Election officers, made up of teachers and staff, ensured a free and fair process. Students formed orderly queues and voted by secret ballot under the guidance of the Electoral Committee. Teachers supervised while giving students the space to cast their votes independently.

“This election helps us understand what it means to vote and choose our leaders,” said Adjoa Mensah, a JHS 2 student. “I feel proud to be part of this process.”

The School Headmaster, Mr. Nketiah Stephen, praised the event, saying,

“We believe in building responsible future leaders. Giving students the opportunity to vote, campaign, and lead is part of the moral and civic training we offer at Ringwald Memorial Presby School Complex.”

Candidates delivered final remarks during a brief assembly before voting began, each pledging to serve with integrity, responsibility, and humility. Among the highlights was an inspiring speech by Asare Wilfred, the newly elected School Prefect, who thanked his fellow students and promised to be “a voice for every pupil.”

As results were announced in the afternoon, cheers and applause filled the air. There were emotional scenes, both of celebration and graceful concession, showcasing maturity beyond their years.

The day ended with group photos, congratulatory handshakes, and words of encouragement from the staff.

This election was more than just about choosing student leaders — it was a practical lesson in leadership, democracy, teamwork, and respect for others.
